TOMMAS was awarded a grant from the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association for sponsoring a full day seminar the University of Texas, Pan American. The seminar was titled: Ethical and Innovative Evaluation and Treatment Methods for Spanish speaking Hispanic Populations.
The seminar occurred on October 11, 2014, and was presented as part of the TOMMAS 2014 conference. Prior to the seminar, the event: Noche de Culturas, was held on October 10, 2014
At the TOMMAS meeting held October 6, 2014, the new Board members were voted upon during the business meeting.

TOMMAS celebrated its 12th anniversary with our conference, Ethical and Innovative Evaluation and Treatment Methods for Spanish speaking Hispanic Populations, October 10-11, 2014. Many thanks to the hosts and attendees of the conference held in McAllen, TX. Over 90 professionals and students attended the event!
Topics included ethical problems with traditional methods of evaluation and treatment of Hispanic population and innovative methods for working with both pediatric and adult Hispanic populations. A new TOMMAS Board was elected at the membership meeting held during the lunch break, and two scholarships were awarded.
Congratulations to our two scholarship winners and thank you to all who participated!
